The UK is currently full of Hollywood productions in the progress of being filed, including Mission: Impossible 7, Doctor Strange, and Indiana Jones 5 as well as TVfilms Tannery studio productions from providers including Amazon and Netflix.  The increase in production on large scales has increased the demand for studio space, and also made it harder to rent a studio space for content creators of all sizes.

“There is nowhere near enough space,” says Chris Berry, a director at LSH. “The requirements are equivalent to approximately four more Pinewoods. The level of demand for studio space and new content has changed but the supply chain has not reacted to the extent required.”

The increase in video marketing has also put a strain on the industry, as 92% of marketers place video at the centre of their marketing strategy, up from 78% in 2015.  The need for companies, including SMEs so not just limited to large corporations, is high.

Renting a studio in the UK

There is no need for studio rental to be limited to the city’s capital, as demonstrated by the BBC – with much of it now based in the North West in Manchester.  Finding a studio to rent in the South doesn’t mean having to struggle with the logistics and cost of London.  There are studios spaces to rent in the region outside London where you can still make use of the resources of the surrounding cities.
