If your business needs a large office rental, but you’re not sure about how to use the space, it’s worth considering dividing the big space into a number of smaller office spaces to maximise efficiency and productivity.

There are a range of different options from setting up separate zones both for different departments, having an open plan area as well as conference and admin spaces, or even dividing up space into smaller, dedicated areas for specific individuals.

Options to divide up a large office rental

Choose an office rental provider that will divide up the space for you. Some of the better quality service office space providers will divide up a larger space into the smaller spaces that you want for you ahead of moving in.

This is obviously the easiest and least stressful way of doing it, with the best chance of a professional finish. At Tannery Studios we adapt our larger office space – for example Rafters – into the separate areas desired according to the business’s needs, meaning an easier move with a ready to use office straight away.

Open shelving

A great complement to an office with a modern design, open shelving is one of the best and easiest ways to create a room divider, in addition to providing additional storage. Open shelves provide flexibility with easy to move divides, however it is important to ensure that they are safe and securely fixed to prevent accident, and they can involve time consuming assembly or costly assembly fees.

Mobile whiteboards

Double sided mobile whiteboards are on wheels and can be moved to create distinct spaces. They are big enough to reduce open areas into smaller zones and can also facilitate focused areas for communication and collaboration. However, they are very easy to move and so members of the team may take it upon themselves to rearrange what was a thought out layout plan to meet their own needs.

Cubicles

Often seen in American high rises on TV, cubicles can be good for large workforces who all need their own areas. However, they can create a rigid looking layout and dare we say, a little dated. This might be suitable for environments such as call centres and programming companies, but they can close down community and collaboration otherwise.

Renting a large office space

If you’re looking for a large office space to rent, Rafters at Tannery Studios is one of our larger spaces with a floor space of 162 square metres (1750 sq ft). Whilst the space is large, it is flexible for all businesses in that it can be divided up into smaller spaces upon request to give distinct spaces for different parts of your business.
